Title
The title is the name given to a website using the <title> tags in the <head> section of a webpage. It is displayed on the title bar of the user’s web browser and is the text returned to the user by search engines. This means that the title tag is not to be underestimated; a well optimised title can provide great SEO benefits. Where possible it should always contain the keyphrase relating to the page and it should be snappy enough to encourage web users to click on it if it is returned by a search engine.
Toolbar Pagerank
This is a value that is allocated to a websites between 0 and 10, it is based on the sites pagerank and is displayed on the Google toolbar if a browser has it installed. Although the rating is similar to pagerank the toolbar pagerank is not the same, it is only updated a handful of times a year and while it can be useful as a quick guide it should not be used to judge the current status of a site.
TrustRank
TrustRank is an algorithm used by search engines for ranking websites. It places more emphasis on links that are derived from trusted websites. Trusted websites are typically those of major corporations, government websites or educational institutions.
Trackback
Trackbacks are typically found on blogs and they automatically notify the original author if the blog post is mentioned elsewhere. Unfortunately the automated nature of trackbacks makes them prone to spam.
